Reading is Food for the Mind

Several times we have mentioned the importance of educating ourselves and increasing our financial IQ. It is the starting point towards our journey of accelerating prosperity and reaching financial freedom. Below we have assembled a list of books to help you get started:

Think and Grow Rich! by Napoleon Hill: This is a great book from 1937 and it is about personal development and self-improvement. Think and Grow Rich! explains entrepreneur Andrew Carnagie’s success, the richest man at the time. It presents an approach to developing the skills and mindset required to achieve exceptional success in any field or endeavour, personal or professional.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki: Fantastic book highlighting the importance of financial literacy, financial independence and building wealth through various investments. Kiyosaki, has the tendency to release books on a yearly basis, which is great to get you into a habit of reading. Another great read from Kiyosaki is the Cashflow Quadrant, laying out a guide on reaching financial freedom. Additional great reads from Kiyosaki, Fake and Who Stole my Pension. His books are very insightful and revolve around personal finances and how to build your wealth.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker: This book comes with exercises and T. Harv Eker has developed several training programs one of them being Millionaire Mind Intensive. In the book he goes on explaining how your money blueprint works and also explores the “Wealth Files” which describe how rich people think and act differently than majority of poor/ middle-class people.

The Answer by John Assaraf: In this book, Assaraf has developed a unique formula that will help individuals overcome obstacles. He also goes on to explain how the mind works by helping individuals ‘reconnect’ with their brains to achieve success to become winners and start making the kind of money needed to live an extraordinary life.

Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss: Voss, a former FBI hostage negotiator, writes about the principles of negotiations. Whether you buying a car, wanting a better raise or buying a property, Never Split the Difference will provide you with the competitive edge you need for any discussion.

The Alter Ego Effect by Todd Herman: Although this book is a little on the technical side it is also fun with loads of stories. The Alter Ego, is about finding the hero already inside you. It is a guide to help you overcome self-doubt, negativity, and insecurity that hold you back, and empowering you to ultimately become your best self.
